Driver Guide Rates  

(prices include parking and road tolls)

Half Day Tours   

(morning 9.00am to 1.00pm, afternoon 2.00pm to 6.00pm).

Up to 3 passengers £515

4 to 6 passengers £540

We can be flexible on start/finish times for half day tours - please discuss when enquiring.

Full Day Tours 

(no more than 8 hours, 250 miles max)

Up to 3 passengers £745 

4 to 6 passengers £785

Full day tours should start after 8.00am and end before 7.00pm.

Additional charges:

Tours in French or German £60 per tour.

Pick up/ drop off in London £60 each direction

Hours exceeding 8, charged at £90 per hour or part thereof.

Multi-day trips 

(8 hours per day and 200 miles max)

Up to 4 passengers £700  per day

Additional charges

Extra  time £60 per hour

Unsocial hours (before 8.00am and after 7.00pm) will be subject to an additional £30 per hour.

These rates are based on tours starting and finishing in Bath, Salisbury, Bristol, the Cotswolds or other locations within Wiltshire, Bath & North East Somerset, Somerset, Dorset or Gloucestershire. 

These prices also apply to passenger pick-ups from cruise terminals at Southampton, Portland, Portsmouth or Avonmouth (Bristol).

Day tours beginning and/or ending in London or Heathrow Airport will be charged at an additional £50 each way.

Day tours beginning and/or ending in Devon or Cornwall (including cruise terminals at Falmouth and Plymouth) will be charged at an additional £50 each way.

For multiday tours there will be a driver subsistence charge of £150 per night.

Walking Tours and Coach Tours

For a half-day of up to 4 hours whether: - 

- morning (finishing before 13:00)

- afternoon (starting after 13:30)

- evening (finishing by 23.00) In English £220

Guiding through an interpreter is charged at the language rate. £250

Full Day Rate

Where services are required for longer than 4 hours and up to 9 hours in one day

in English £330

Guiding through an interpreter is charged at the language rate. £380

Where services are required for one-day excursions, it is customary for such tours to finish by 19.00 (and for the Guide to enjoy a lunch break of one hour during the day)

Overtime/ Unsociable hours (per hour)

Overtime, where services are required in addition to the above: 07:00 – 23:00 £50

Unsocial hours 23:00 – 07:00 £65 

Meal Allowance (When not included) Lunch / Dinner £15 / £25

Public Holidays.

Bookings on Public Holidays other than 25th December will carry a supplement of 50%

Bookings on 25th December will carry a supplement of 100%

If you decide to book we will send an invoice for deposit and balance (see terms and conditions). For payment of deposits and balances we  accept payment by Bank Transfer, cheque drawn on a UK bank account or by credit or debit card through our sister company Footpath Holidays.

Private Guiding Terms and Conditions

Alternative ‘Terms and Conditions’ may be agreed with Contract Customers.

Your guide is covered by comprehensive personal public liability insurance. 

Confirmation of services
 25% non-refundable deposit confirms the booking.
The balance is due 14 days before the first booked touring date.

Supplement for Public Holidays
; 25 December - supplement equivalent to 100% of quoted price.

Other public holidays - supplement equivalent to 50% of quoted price. 

Cancellation: 
If a confirmed booking is cancelled, the following charges, plus any unrecoverable expenditure (e.g. pre-booked hotels or tickets) will apply:

 At any time: loss of 25% deposit. 

Two weeks' notice or less: 50% of the total fee
 

One week's notice or less: 75% of the total fee
 

48 hours' notice or less: 100% of the total fee.

South West Heritage Tours is not responsible for cancellations due to unscheduled closures by third party suppliers, or events beyond its control, but it will take all possible steps to offer an alternative. Nor is it liable for any loss, accident, injury or damage to clients and their personal effects.

In the event of your Guide considering that you should not attempt to do a specific tour - for example because of unexpected adverse weather - and there is no mutually agreeable alternative tour, you will receive a full refund for any monies paid for guide services.

The cancellation policy will not be varied to accommodate clients who cancel tours because of conditions prevailing outside the UK. Such costs should be recovered from clients’ Travel Insurer.

South West Heritage Tours recommends that all clients have suitable travel insurance to cover any losses that may arise from cancellations.

Extending a tour:

 
If clients wish to extend their tour beyond the agreed booked time, this is normally possible, subject to agreement about the additional expense this will incur.

 Problems and complaints should be addressed to South West Heritage Tours in writing. As South West Heritage Tours operates under the law of the UK, any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of UK courts.

Driver Guiding Terms and Conditions

Good Friday, Easter Day, Easter Monday, 26 December & 1 January - £82.50 for a half day and £135 for a full day.

Driver-Guide Licences and Insurance
 

Your Guide is covered by public liability insurance. Our vehicles are insured for private hire or hire and reward use and your guide holds the correct driver and vehicle licences as required by our local public authority.

Children 

Children under 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times during a tour except by prior agreement.

Seat Belts and Child Seats
UK law requires seatbelts to be worn by all occupants of a moving vehicle. Clients are responsible for providing an appropriate child car seat for babies and small children.

With advance notice your Driver Guide may be able to supply a suitable child seat at an extra charge.

No Smoking
UK law forbids smoking in any Private Hire Vehicle.
